Jamal studied acting at RADA, completing the foundation course in acting in 2011. During his career he’s mainly worked on stage alongside appearing in commercials for some notable brands (Citroen, McDonalds, Right Move, Samsung).
He starred as Captain Dudley in the immersive hit ‘Dr Who: Time Fracture’ (Immersive Everywhere, directed by Tom Maller) which won ‘Best Immersive Production’ at the 2022 UK/WEST END Awards. He played Jokanaan in ‘Salome’ at the Greenwich Theatre (Oscar Wilde, Lazarus Theatre Company, directed by Ricky Dukes) and he also performs regularly as an actor at The Royal Opera House; appearing in many productions including 2019’s Billy Bud (Benjamin Britten, directed by Deborah Warner) which won the Olivier award for ‘Best Opera’. Most recently Jamal performed as an ensemble swing in the ‘1984 immersive experience’ at the Hackney Town hall (George Orwell, directed by Jack Reardon).
