Maia Watkins is an actress, spoken word poet and voice over artist from London.
Maia is a third time winner of The Monologue Slam UK at the Theatre Royal in Stratford East, including the LA edition. She travels around the UK and Europe performing poetry at various open mics and events. Maia trained in acting at Drama Centre London graduating in 2013 and is known for playing Candace in the BBC soap ‘Eastenders.’ Other noticeable roles include Snickers commercial (2020), BBC Radio 1Xtra ‘A Quarter Life Crises’ and BFI London Film ‘Holy Beef.’
Maia’s natural voice has a London (MLE), fresh, cool and urban tone to it which is youthful, friendly and upbeat. Maia can speak Jamaican Patios and can also do a variety of accents such as RP, Liverpool and American.
